The Marsh is home to spawning Frogs and Toads in the Spring.
The mass of purple in the late Summer is Rose Bay Willow Herb.
Nearly dry in the middle of Summer, the Marsh fills again in the Autumn, and has recently spread onto the Football Pitch.

A small permanent population of Coot, Moorhens and Mallard nest here, and visitors to the Marsh and its immediate surrounds include Swans, Herons, Dabchick, Snipe, Teal, Wigeon, Shoveler, Greylag Geese, Curlew, Redshank, and Oyster Catchers.
